Bana dostlardan yöneltilen bir soru var: Hangi kitapları okuyorsunuz? Hangi kitapları tavsiye edersiniz? Küresel gündemde çok konuşulan ve etki oluşturan, geleceği belirleyen kitaplar hangileri?Bugün bu sütunda bu konuya sizlere 100 kitap önererek yanıt vereceğim. Sizler için disiplinler arası bir ufuk turu yaptım ve beni etkileyen kitaplar listesi çıkardım. İşletme, yönetim, ekonomi, sağlık, teknoloji, sivil toplum, ekoloji, kültür, öğrenme, gelişim, eğitim, değerler, küreselleşme alanlarında ses getiren, ufuk açan ve etki oluşturan kitapları derledim. Disiplinler ötesi bir liste çıkarmaya özen gösterdim. Ancak, şunu da ifade etmeden geçemeyeceğim: Bu 100 kitaplık liste 21. yüzyıla hazırlanma adına halen yetersiz kalıyor. Bu listede olmayan ama harika açılımlar yakalayan yüzlerce başka kitap daha var. Ayrıca bu konularda her yıl binlerce ilginç makale sürekli yayınlanıyor ve dünya bilim gündemine giriyor.
Bilgi patlaması yaşanan bir çağda atı alan Üsküdar’ı geçiyor. Listeden göreceksiniz ki küresel dünyanın tartıştığı konular ülkemizin siyaset-futbol-magazin gündeminden çok ama çok farklı!
21. yüzyılı oturduğumuz yerden seyrederek ve kısır tartışmalarla yakalayamayız. Bizler toplumsal bir okuma, bilim, eğitim, araştırma, teknoloji ve yenilik seferberliği başlatmadıkça ve heybemizi doldurmadıkça Türkiye dünya dengeleri içinde hak ettiği lider konumu yakalayamaz.
Evet kitaplarımıza geri dönelim: Bu kitaplardan bazıları daha kolay okunur ve pratik odaklı, bazıları ise oldukça derin ve bilimsel. Bazıları Harvard, MIT gibi prestijli üniversitelerden çıkmış akademik ağırlığı yüksek kitaplar. Bazıları sahalarında dünyaca ünlü uzmanlar tarafından kaleme alınmış. Ama sonuçta yeni çağda yaşadığımız küresel değişimi ve gelişmeleri güzel özetleyen ve yorumlayan kitaplar bunlar.
Kitapların isimlerini İngilizce adlarıyla korudum, öyle yapmak zorundaydım. Çünkü bu kitapların çok ama çok azı Türkçeye çevrilmiş durumda. Üzülerek ifade edeyim ki, çoğu zaman bizim sahamızda bir kitap Türkçeye çevrilene kadar kitaptaki kavramlar neredeyse eskimiş oluyor. Kim ne derse desin, küresel gelişmeleri takip edebilme adına İngilizcenin kritik rolü burada ortaya çıkıyor.
Biz Türkçemizi yeryüzünün her köşesinde konuşulan tanınır bir dünya dili ve bilim dili haline getirmedikçe bu böyle devam edecek. Biz bilim ve teknolojide yeni atılımlar yapmadıkça, patentler kazanmadıkça, ARGEye yatırım yapmadıkça, heybemizi doldurmadıkça, sosyal bilimlerde yeni modellerimizi ortaya koymadıkça, eğitim sistemimizi düzeltmedikçe, üniversitelerimizde kalıcı reform yapmadıkça, kafalarımızı değiştirmedikçe, ayrımcılığa ve kayırmaya son vermedikçe, kendimize güvenmedikçe, uzun vadeli vizyon ortaya koymadıkça, kısır siyaset ağında debelendikçe, yapay gündemlerle zaman kaybettikçe, birbirimizle uğraştıkça bu böyle devam edecek.
Neyse, Çetin Altan’ın ifadesiyle enseyi karartmayalım ve kendi hayatımızda küçük pozitif değişiklikler oluşturmaya çalışarak değişime kendi içimizden ve kendi heybemizden başlayalım.
